WF (WEG-FERNANDEZ Research & Development) is a consulting company that helps other companies, governmental and non-governmental institutions to improve their management and decision making through analysis, research and development (see History and Mission). In summary, the basic work of WF is the solution of involved problems and the optimization of complex processes.

Founded in 1999 by Luis F. Lopez, professor of the Medical School of the University of São Paulo, with a focus in the area of information and communication technologies applied to health, WF has expanded its intellectual presence to other areas such as Bioinformatics, Epidemiology and Clinical Trials. Focused on the understanding and optimization of processes through mathematical modeling, WF works the solution of problems that challenge companies that want to be at the top of the quality pyramid.

WF develops different areas of expertise and research which reflect the frantic development of new technologies in a globalized world. Most of the research is performed by WF as a service to private customers. WF, however, also carries out research by itself, supported by its own, by companies and organizations, or by funding agencies, in areas that do not affect the day-to-day business of its clients but will do in the near future. In general, WF improves the management and decision making through analysis, research and development. In some situations, the institution asks for the research or development of a specific problem solution. In other it requests the development of a set of solutions and an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of each. Sometimes WF produces only management recommendations. What remains constant is the commitment of WF with its quality standards and institutional principles.
